If you’ve never touched SEO at all, this might be a decent introduction. But you won’t walk away feeling empowered. Rather, you’ll probably want to hire an SEO expert to do the actual work.

EAT = Expertise, Authority, Trust
Google uses EAT as a quality assurance framework. As a site author, you can think of EAT as:
- Expertise = The credentials that qualify you to author content on a subject
- Authority = How authoritative do other sites consider you through the form of backlinks?
- Trust = Are you acting on the up-and-up or do you engage in shady practices?
EAT isn’t a revolutionary concept, but it felt nice to have proper language to discuss site quality.

If there’s anything to take away from SEO 2021, it’s that tools exist for everything:
